Extra, Extra Read All About It!

(7/1/2009) New Haven Public Library puts a new face on an old familiar one! Beginning today - July 1, the library’s new catalog design will replace the old card catalog’s face that generations of library users instantly recognize both on and off the computer! The catalog’s new design offers patrons a streamlined layout, “search options” menu on every page and tools for better searching our collection. On the front page, historical pictures rotate to reveal black and white photos of New Haven library users throughout the 20th Century while the 21st Century patron is captured in color.

If you have an on-line record or were considering creating one, the user friendly aspects of the catalog will encourage you to explore. Whether you’re setting up or resetting your PIN to access your library record you’ll find the process easier. You’ll also be able to update your phone and e-mail address, save your reading history, save searches, request e-mail updates, rate books and media, write reviews and for those Facebook fans amongst us, a Facebook widget connects your words to your Facebook account!
